The Advantis Board of Directors is delighted to announce the selection of Jason Werts as our new President and CEO. Jason replaces Bob Corwin, who announced his retirement in February, following eight years as leader of Advantis. Much like Bob, Jason brings a true passion for credit union values, and will ensure that our members remain the central focus in everything we do.

 

Though we conducted an extensive national search, we found Jason in our backyard. He comes to Advantis from Portland’s Unitus Community Credit Union, where he’s served in executive leadership for the past 14 years, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. A long-time Oregonian, Jason brings 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

 

Advantis always strives to be a passionate advocate for our members, and in Jason we found a kindred spirit devoted to an organization-wide focus on member experience. While at Unitus, he led the development of programs and products that made meaningful impacts on the lives of members.

 

Jason is passionate about credit unions and the vital role they play in fostering healthy and dynamic local communities. He’s a firm believer in our founding principle of “people helping people,” and has a proven track record supporting critical initiatives and causes.

 

He currently serves on the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Governmental Affairs Committee and Global Environment of Cooperative Finance Study Group. Jason is also on the Board of Directors at Good Neighbor Center and Children’s Cancer Association.

 

Serving others is at the core of our Advantis mission, and Jason will lead the charge as we continue to give our time and resources to help our community grow.

 

Jason will begin officially on August 31, and we can’t wait to watch our next chapter unfold. At the same time, we’ll truly miss Bob’s strong leadership and genuine kindness. We thank him for his years of dedication and fondly wish him all the best in his retirement years.

 

And a special thanks to our Board of Directors, composed entirely of Advantis members, for conducting such a thorough process. They focused on evaluating top financial services talent, and in Jason, we’re confident they’ve made an excellent choice.
