Platinum Rewards cardholders
Is my card number changing?
No, we’re keeping things simple. The new contactless Signature Cashback Rewards card you receive in October will have your same card number, so auto payments you have set up should continue as usual. Please keep in mind that your card expiration date will change, so we recommend you relay this new expiration date to merchants for which you send automatic payments as an extra precaution.
Can I still use my Platinum Rewards card?
To make this change as seamless and convenient as possible, your Platinum Rewards card will continue to work through November 15, 2021. This is approximately 30 days after you’ll receive your new Signature Cashback Rewards card, giving you more time to make the switch. It’s important to note that Advantis is retiring the Platinum Rewards points-based program, so it will no longer be available.
What rewards categories will be included in the new Rewards program?
The new Rewards program is simple and straightforward, with one category: cash. You’ll earn 1.5% unlimited cashback on every purchase. You can redeem it by transferring to your Advantis checking or savings account, or apply it as a statement credit.
Why is Advantis changing the program?
We’re making the switch for a couple reasons. The vast majority of our Advantis Rewards cardholders currently redeem their points in cash. Plus, cashback rewards programs have become extremely popular with consumers nationwide. So this change allows us to provide more value to our cardholders, and helps us attract more members to our credit union co-op.
What Rewards categories are being retired?
All non-cash rewards categories such as merchandise, travel credit, gift cards, and experiences were retired on September 26. If you did not redeem your Rewards points in any of these categories, your points were converted to equivalent cash value. Take your current points, multiply by 1.5%, and that’s the amount redeemable in cash. For example, if you had 10,000 points, you’ll now have $150 in cash to redeem.
How will I redeem cash back in the new program? What about the current website?
Visit advantiscu.org/rewards to redeem your earnings balance in cash.
Will the upgrade to Cashback Rewards change my points expiration date?
Yes. If you had a current points balance, we’re adding a lot more time for you to redeem your rewards (as cash back) in the new program. All of your earnings accumulated on the retiring Platinum program will have a new expiration date of four years from the date of new card issuance (approximately October, 2025). Please note, as you use your new Signature Rewards card in the future, cash back will expire four years from each transaction date on which it was earned.
Will this change affect my credit score?
No. Advantis will not be reporting this as a new loan to the credit bureaus, so this Rewards program change will have no effect on your credit score.
Can I stay on the existing program?
The existing program will change to the new Signature Cashback Rewards program in October, and we hope you’ll take advantage of it. We think you’ll love the higher earning potential with 1.5% unlimited cash back, paying no annual fee, and all the new Signature Visa card benefits. If you’d like to change to a different credit card option in October, please contact us and speak with a member advisor.
